That Day Was Magic, Magic I’ll tell You, 2021
As a Mexican, getting used to the winter sun hours plus living in an apartment with only one window — which the sun does not bother to touch at any time of the day — and following the Montreal quarantine curfew hours for months, was tough. Therapy is tough.
After not seeing a sunset for months — yes, months. Our apartment back then had only one window that does not get any sun, at any time of day — my soul shivered and my eyes crystallized when my head looked up one day and saw the bright blue Montreal sky while being out during unusual hours. I can't remember how much time I cried looking at the sky and thinking about how I will never take a sunset for granted. I took a photo with my cellphone and created this composition to show the magic my soul felt at the time.
That day was magic, magic I tell you.
